Sarita Scrapbook Layouts...finally

I knew I was behind in my blogging, but I didn't realize I was that far behind.  Whoops.  Here are the promised finished layouts for the Sarita workshop.

I love the etched wooden shapes in the Sarita Assortment (Z1873), and the Aqua Dots (Z1853) add just the right amount of pop in color.

It looks like I spelled ROAD correctly afterall. One of the great things about scrapbooking is reliving the memories again. I enjoyed this trip with my family to the Petrified Forest in Arizona.

Is That Spelled Right?

Do you ever look at a word too long and start to wonder if it's spelled right? I'm preparing scrapbook pages using Close To My Heart's Sarita collection and when I stamped this word I started second guessing myself.

Check back for the finished Sarita layout soon!

For our September Playgroup we are creating 2 two-page layouts featuring Laughing Lola workshop-on-the-go (Item G1065) from Close To My Heart. Close To My Heart Artbooking Mini Book with Dream Pop

As promised in my newsletter, here are pics of my recently completed minibook I created using Close To My Heart's newest Cricut cartridge, ARTBOOKING.  The Cricut Craftroom software made cutting all the pieces a lot easier to manage.  I used the Dream Pop paper kit which was the promotion during National Scrapbooking Month last May.  I also added a few extra colors of cardstock and inks: Juniper, Creme Brulee, Outdoor Denim, New England Ivy, Whisper, and Colonial White.  The pattern was provided by CTMH at Convention.  I used Distressed Backgrounds stamp set (D1544), but you could also use Geometric Backgrounds (D1559).  Add a little washi tape and bakers twine, and voila!  I love how it turned out.  Now to fill it with photos.

Epic Minecraft Birthday Party

My eyes have been opened to the pixelated world my kids are so obsessed with thanks to my son's Epic Minecraft Birthday Party!  Here's how you do it: pick a date, wait a week before the date, and lift all the ideas you can from Pinterest and Google searches.  The only thing I take credit for here is the marshmallow Ghasts, (Yes, spelled with an A).

Pretty Cute, hugh?  I used S'moreMallows, the square, flat kind and some melted chocolate in a piping bag. Actually I put the melted chocolate in a sandwich baggie and cut off the tip.  Before adding the chocolate face, I used scissors to cut the legs.  Super easy!

The best part was hearing my little boy thank me SEVERAL times for doing this party for him.

Here are some more pictures followed by credit where credit is due.

The Food

I wish I had taken a better picture of the "grass blocks AND the Jello jigglers "diamonds"

Pin the tail on the Pig

The kids wore the Steve head rather than a blindfold

Everyone made their own pixel face

Of course they played the video game that inspired the madness

Perler Beads were a huge hit

You can see why

3D Steve and Creeper make great decorations
